India trip 2015 – Part 2

After Bombay & Rajkot we headed to Ahemdabad. I was very impreseed with the city’s development and infrastructure. We enjoyed shopping some Indian ethnic handicrafts , food and above all the company. We also visited some nearby temples which were divine and architecturally...

India Trip 2015 part-1

Our India trip was filled with meeting family, relatives , not as many friends as I would have liked to meet, food and travelling. I visited Bomaby, Ahemdabad, Rajkot, Ratnagiri and Kolhapur in this trip and was very satisfied by the end of the trip as I checked off most items from my “Must-do-in-India-list” Here are some highlights from Bombay and Rajkot trip Excuse the picture quality and just enjoy the essence of the...

Holiday 2015

Holiday 2015

I am back from one of the longest vacation of my life – five and half weeks of travelling and fun. It all began with planning our India trip and then since BA was coming out to be the cheapest we booked our flights immediately. We then randomly decided to take a layover in London and visit UK & Paris. After visiting these places I felt like it was the best decision we made. Earlier we were contemplating on spending all days in India but then we thought we might not get a chance so we applied for UK & Paris visa. Once we got it approve there was no looking back...

Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco

The best moments are the unplanned ones that just happen but make your day. Myself and the husband enjoyed a quite outing at the wharf in the noon time. We enjoyed a nice lunch at the Boudin Bakery at San Francisco and then after the walk at the wharf basked in the sun on fresh lawn underneath right by the Ghiradelli. On the way back home had Masala Chai at the Ghiradelli Square. It was one of the outing that had no destination to be reached or sight-seeing to be done it was more about being in the moment and enjoying the fresh air, the delicious lunch and each others company. A day that will be etched in my memory forever.....

Russian cuisine

Russian cuisine

This year when we were visiting our friends in San Diego , one of the evenings we all wanted to experiment and try something different. So we thought of going for Georgian-Russian cuisine at a restaurant named Pomegranate. I instantly fell for the ambiance it was so cozy and different. The walls of the restaurant had funny writings by people who had paid visit at that restaurant some point of time in their life. Since it was our first time trying this cuisine we asked the server for suggestions and went ahead with whatever she said was the best. I really enjoyed the appetizer which was a hollow bread filled with mozzarella and feta cheese. I also enjoyed the Russian tea which was served with cherry syrup. The entree tasted something like a vegetable pilaf. The bread served with dill flavored butter at the beginning was fresh and warm. Overall good food, great ambiance and the best ever company of...

Drums of the Pacific Luau

Drums of the Pacific Luau

After snorkeling we checked into another hotel near the airport and went to the traditional Hawaiian show at the Hyatt Regency. This show was very exciting and entertaining, we were greeted with a shell lei and fruit punch. The setting was perfect as I could see the sunset on the beach and at the same time sip on tropical fruit punch while listening to delightful performance of Hawaiian music and dances. They also serve traditional Hawaiian food there which we couldn’t enjoy much being vegetarians. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful experience!  ...
