While exploring Yokohama the other day we went to a nearby park -The Rinko Park. This park is besides the sea, hence also known as the seaside park. As we walked through the park enjoying the cool breeze, we reached the Red Brick Warehouse. This is a historical building originally used as a custom’s building. It is now used as a complex that includes shops, banquet hall, and restaurants. The Red Brick Warehouse is constructed in a unique way. It is made up of iron between the red bricks; this is one of the reasons why this building suffered less than other buildings when the Great Kanto earthquake struck Yokohama. We continued walking by the sea till we reached the topmost point. This topmost point was the International passenger port with a rooftop garden. We could now view the Yokohama skyline. The view was breathtaking!! We could see some skyscrapers, one of the tallest buildings in Japan –Landmark Tower, the Ferris wheel and sail shaped building-The Intercontinental hotel. We decided to wait there to capture some shots of the Yokohama skyline as the night begins with spectacular sunset! What a perfect way to end the day!
