Day 16:  Something difficult about your “lot in life” and how you’re working to overcome it

I have been pondering over this topic for some time now, and I honestly had trouble coming up with something worth talking about. Although, I can’t think of anything that can qualify as having a difficult lot in life. But, moving to the US has definitely been challenging.
For years, I don’t get to see my parents, visit my home-town and smell the “vatan ke mitti ki khushboo”
I can’t take up a job and hence we live in this country on one income, although happily, having two income helps a bit you know
My degrees were not acknowledged by the US so I am pursuing my Master’s in Nutrition and Dietetics again. I had never thought that I would have to study again! Its not a Indian thing to be studying at 28! I should have had a job or at least kids. Nothing has happened so far!
Like I said earlier, I can’t say that the above mentioned things qualify as difficult lot in life, as I chose the boy I wanted to marry and it was my decision to come “saat samundar paar” with him. All I can say is God has been kind to me and my heart is full of gratitude as he has given me the opportunity to study abroad and have great life experiences….
So then, question again, What holds me back about my “lot in life?”
I have to say that it is staying alone in this country, sometimes for 2-3 months at a stretch, when my husband in away in Japan. I definitely consider this difficult and I try to overcome it by blogging, painting, gymming etc.
