We are back from a wonderful trip to San Diego, the birthplace of California and the second largest city in the state. The sunny weather and sandy beaches gave us a warm welcome and got us in a vacation mode instantaneously. We decided to first visit the famous theme parks and then explore some local points of interest there.
Day one started off at the Sea World. This marine park had everything from fish aquariams, penguin and polar bear exhibits to open air shows which included whales, dolphins and sea lions. Undoubtedly, the highlight was the open air show which gave me an opportunity to sea killer whales at a closest possible distance! It was truly mesmerizing to see these huge sea mammals perform crowd-pleasing leaps, twirls, wave to the audience and clothes-soaking splashes, using hand signals from their trainers.
We spent almost the entire day at Sea World! The energy and the spirit of these mammals was commendable. It is a must visit place that gives you an opportunity to see life underneath the water. Not only does it entertain but also educate and inspire!
Whale named Shaamu, weighs 9000 pounds and eats 240 pounds of fishes a day!
Shammu splashing water onto the audience. I was completely soaked!
