Last Sunday, I had been to SFO. It wasn’t for sightseeing this time. I had been to support a charity event. This event was held not only to create awareness and raise funds for research in this field but also to honor women who survived it and to remember those who have lost their lives battling it.
The lady behind this is Susan Komen. She ranked first in a recent poll as the most valued NGO! What I liked most about this event was it was very lively. There were lot of people who participated in this event, some walked for their sisters, some for their mothers and some for their wives. They had planned the event very well with volunteers at every station to help you with drinks and a quick bite. Some great music played in the background to keep you going. The costumes too were designed as per the theme in my favorite color pink! I felt like sharing this on my blog because they are doing a great job!!
If you want to help this institution, you can do so for free. I am saying so because I have. It is simple; get a BOA debit card with Susan Komen logo printed on it. When you do that Komen will receive $2 and an additional $1 on each annual anniversary of the account opening. Komen will also receive 10 cents for every $100 you make in purchases with the optional Susan G. Komen for the Cure® branded debit card.
So guys and gals, please do your bit to support this cause!!!!
